Terms of Service

By creating a Pennify account or using the Pennify service, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use Pennify. We may update these terms from time to time — we will notify you by email before material changes take effect.

You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account. Use a strong password. Do not share your account with others. If you suspect your account has been compromised, contact us immediately at hello@pennify.app.

You must be at least 13 years old to create an account. By creating an account, you represent that you meet this requirement.

Pennify is a personal expense tracking tool. It is designed to help individuals understand their spending and manage personal budgets. It is not a financial advisory service. Nothing in Pennify constitutes financial advice.

You are responsible for the accuracy of the data you enter. Pennify displays what you tell it.

You agree not to:

• Use Pennify for any illegal purpose or in violation of any laws.
• Attempt to gain unauthorised access to Pennify's systems or other users' accounts.
• Use automated tools to scrape or extract data from Pennify at scale.
• Resell or sublicense Pennify to third parties.
• Attempt to reverse-engineer the Pennify application.
• Upload malicious code, viruses, or any content designed to disrupt the service.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms without prior notice.

Free plan. The free plan is free forever. No credit card required. We may change what features are included in the free plan in the future, but we will give existing free users at least 90 days notice before removing a feature they currently use.

Pro and Family plans. Paid subscriptions are billed in advance on a monthly or annual basis. Payments are processed by LemonSqueezy. By subscribing, you authorise recurring charges to your payment method.

Cancellation. You may cancel your subscription at any time from your account settings. You will retain access to your paid plan until the end of the current billing period. No partial refunds are issued for unused time on monthly plans.

Refunds. If you were charged in error, contact billing@pennify.app within 7 days. We review each request individually and will issue a refund if the charge was a mistake.

You own your data. All transaction data, budgets, categories, and accounts you create in Pennify belong to you. We do not claim any ownership over the content you enter.

You grant Pennify a limited licence to store and process your data for the sole purpose of providing the service to you. This licence ends when you delete your account.

You can export your data at any time using the export feature. Free users can export PDF reports. Pro users can export CSV and Excel files.

We aim to keep Pennify available 24/7 but we do not guarantee uninterrupted access. We may perform scheduled maintenance (we will try to do this at low-traffic times) or experience unexpected outages.

Pennify's offline mode means your data is always accessible on your device even if the service is temporarily unavailable. We will not be liable for losses caused by service downtime.

Pennify is provided "as is." To the maximum extent permitted by law, we exclude all warranties, express or implied, regarding the service.

We will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of Pennify, including but not limited to loss of data, loss of profits, or financial decisions made based on information displayed in the app.

Our total liability to you for any claim arising from use of Pennify will not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim, or $100, whichever is greater.

You may delete your account at any time from Settings. This will permanently delete your data within 30 days.

We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these terms, engage in fraudulent activity, or if we are required to do so by law. If we terminate your account without cause, we will provide a pro-rata refund for any unused prepaid subscription time.

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
